A thank-you example
After the wedding, a couple records 46 gifts, 34 usable mailing addresses and 19 notes already sent. Seven gifts came from shared households, so the names on each card need a quick check before writing. The tracker is most helpful when it shows the next small batch of notes without losing the record of what was received, where it came from and whether a dated note has already gone out.

Record a joint gift once
If three friends give one gift together, retain all three names in the acknowledgement plan while recording the gift only once. For a household card, check how the couple wants to address it. Attendance and gifting are separate: a person who could not attend may still need a note.
Use a specific memory in the draft
A useful note can name the gift or support and explain why it mattered. For example, thank a friend for collecting relatives from the station and mention the time it saved that morning. Avoid putting gift amounts into an export that a handwriting helper does not need.
Distinguish drafted from sent
A written card is not yet a delivered acknowledgement. Check the recipient name and response address, then mark sent only after posting or sending it yourself. Keep an unresolved address as a separate follow-up instead of allowing that card to disappear into a completed total.
Close the record deliberately
Compare the remaining names with the couple's gift notes and messages after the event. Export only the details needed for the next writing session. When the follow-up is finished, keep a personal copy if useful and remove unnecessary contact information from files shared with helpers.
